The Huggingtons

In the far, far North, beyond the Big Mountain, and through the Daisy Woods, in a wooden house next to the fjord, lives a very special family… The Huggingtons.

The fun adventures of Liv, the half-Viking/half-troll girl who loves warm family hugs as much as she loves exploring the wonderous world around her. Liv feels BIG emotions as she enjoys the excitement and challenges of new experiences every day!

THEME

THE HUGGINGTONS is a show about a (rather unique!) Norwegian family, created by Norwegians. The themes identified above all reflect aspects of classic Norwegian values such as Fairness, Community, Respect for Nature and Joint Problem-solving. The Nordic flavour of the show will also be felt through the family’s Viking/Troll roots, the iconic landscape and wildlife, the changing weather and seasons.

Each episode is 5 minutes long and has a clear and familiar line of dramaturgy that fits well with smaller childrens attention span. The show aims for an international audience, and will be produced for and is commissioned by the broadcasters NRK in Norway, C5/Milkshake in UK, RTÉ in Ireland, and with co-producers Kavaleer in Ireland/UK and Epic Storyworlds in Canada, further financially supported by Norwegian Film Instititute, Filminvest regional Film Fund and Midtnorsk Filmsenter. 

Production starts in 2026 and you can meet Liv and her hugging family on screens from 2027!

Short Film. With nice colleges at Klipp Fiction I wrote, directed, did artwork, made animatics, did Vfx work and made the poster. The movie was screened at BiFF, Bergen and Nordic Panorama in Malmø, amongst others.
